Overview

Established in 1965, Seminole Community College (SCC) is accredited by the Southern Association of College and Schools. As one of Florida's fastest-growing community college, SCC offers numerous options for people of all ages and backgrounds. With approximately 30,000 students, SCC is committed to providing a wide range of student-centered, learning-focused opportunities.

Location

  • Seminole Community College is located 45 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean.
  • The city of Orlando is just 15 minutes from SCC, offering students the excitement of three theme parks: Walt Disney World, Sea World and Universal Studios.

Campus Life

  • Thirty clubs and organizations provide opportunities for volunteering, mentoring and athletics. Students can choose to join student government associations, student newspaper, leadership institutes and international student clubs.
  • The Student Activities Office also offers several annual campus activities, including the WOW! Series in which comedians, hypnotists and other surprise guests visit the campus for performances.
  • SCC also offers a variety of theater and musical performances, planetarium shows and guest speakers.

Student Resources

  • Committed to providing the best experience for all students, SCC's educational advisors and career counselors are available to help students each step of the way.
  • Academic advisors aren't the only ones at SCC prepared to help students, though. SCC understands the transition to college can be a difficult one, and personal counseling is also available from qualified counselors.

Academics/Programs

  • SCC offers Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees, specialized career certificates, continuing professional education, adult education, English for academic purposes courses and a Language Institute.
  • Students can select from traditional year-round classes, cooperative education opportunities and distance learning courses. Day, evening and weekend classes are offered at three locations.
  • The college offers more than 100 majors and several academically advanced programs including the Art and Phyllis Grindle Honors Institute.
