Colorado's dry, mild climate offers over 300 days of sunshine per year and some of the best snow skiing and snowboarding in the world. The modern Denver International Airport makes the area an important regional connection and international destination.
English Language ProgramThe Intensive English Program is designed to prepare students for success in American colleges and universities. Short-term training can also assist participants with professional development goals. The standard program, at 25 hours per week, includes Reading, Writing, Grammar, and Oral Communication skills (listening and speaking) as well as an individualized hour with instructors in the classroom or our computerized language laboratory. Classes meet in the morning and early afternoon with the rest of each day free. Eight-week sessions begin five times per year in January, March, June, August, and October. Average class size is twelve. The diverse student population of the campus represents over 20 languages and 35 countries.
CostsTuition: $1,800 per 8-week session; Books: $75/session; Living Expenses: (housing, food, transportation) $1,200/session; Health Insurance: (unless already covered) $120/session; No Application Fee or Deposit.
Bridge-Level and "Early Start" College AdmissionStudents in the High-Advanced Level of our intensive will qualify to take ½ time English while beginning computer, math, and other courses prior to joining the regular academic program full time at Red Rocks Community College. This "early start" on the classes needed for your degree pursuit will help you save time during your stay in the U.S. Students may take our in-house college assessment tests at any time to determine if they are ready for the Bridge-level or full-time academic classes at Red Rocks.
College and University Transfer ProgramsFollowing English language studies, students may begin the first two years of their four-year Bachelor's degree, an Associate degree, or a certificate program without a TOEFL test (the college uses its own assessment test). Students who plan their course work with academic advisors are guaranteed a 100% transfer of their first two years at Red Rocks when moving on to universities and colleges in Colorado such as the University of Colorado, Metropolitan State College of Denver, the Colorado School of Mines, and Colorado State University. Students who choose to transfer to states outside of Colorado are likely to transfer all courses as well.
Computerized Language Lab & Campus FacilitiesOur fully equipped language laboratory provides students with interactive CD-ROM language software, word processing, free email, and internet connections. The lab also offers videotape and cassette materials as well as satellite-based foreign language television. Intensive English Program students are welcome to use all campus facilities, including the gymnasium, tennis courts, library, and four computer laboratories.
FacultyThe Intensive English Program's instructors are all experienced English as a Second Language teachers who have Master's degrees. They are native English speakers and most of them have taught English in other countries and studied foreign languages.
American Family HomestayStudents may choose to live with an American family rather than in apartment housing. Students may eat with the family or find a living situation in which they can cook for themselves. Bus transportation is always easy to use to the college if the student does not drive.
Field Trips and Social ProgramsIntensive Language Program students take two off-campus field trips per 8-week session to area museums, galleries, historical sites, and recreation spots. Our International Student Club and Global Conversation Hour provide students with activities and socializing every week, throughout the year.

In addition to world-class snow skiing, you can go hiking, horseback riding, golfing, camping, mountain climbing, white water rafting, mountain bike riding, and fishing.
