About Rio Salado College

Rio Salado College was established a quarter of a century ago and charged with reaching out to an emerging market: students who require flexible and convenient learning formats in order to earn their degrees. From the start, Rio Salado has been known as "the college without walls." Rio Salado has never built a traditional campus. Rather, from its Tempe, Arizona administrative headquarters, Rio Salado utilizes technology to deliver educational opportunities to diverse populations throughout Maricopa County and around the world.

Today Rio Salado College serves 38,419 credit students through a combination of e-learning and on-site education. If you cannot come to Arizona, you can still take classes from your home, in your own country, or from anywhere in the world. You can participate anytime and anyplace that works for you.

Academic Programs

Rio Salado College offers over 425 unique courses delivered online. A full list of degree programs and courses will be provided upon request.

English as a Second Language (ESL) Programs

Rio Salado College offers online ESL classes. However, international student who are interested in an intensive English program would be referred to one of our sister colleges.

Transfer Opportunities

Transferring from Rio Salado College to any of the state sponsored universities is easy and convenient. Rio Salado College has articulation agreements with all state universities. Students can transfer and continue their education and earn a four-year degree at any of the state or national universities. State universities include:

The office of International Education provides services to students from diverse countries, cultures and languages. This office is committed to providing quality services that support the educational goals and enhance student life opportunities for its international community.

TOEFL Information

Rio Salado College does not offer housing and does not have dormitories. The office of International Education staff has housing information. Apartments in the area are usually available in various price ranges. Home Stay is also another option which offers a wonderful opportunity for students to help improve their English while learning American Culture.

Admission

Rio Salado College welcomes your application as an International Student and will make every effort to assist you during this process. Our admission requirements conform to the regulations of the U.S. Government for issuing F-1 student visa documents.

Application Deadlines:
Fall Semester - July 1
Spring Semester - November 1

Admission Requirements for International Students High School Graduate:
Graduation from a secondary/middle school that is equivalent to an American high school is required.

Transcripts or Academic Records
Official transcripts from all colleges and/or universities must be mailed directly from the college/university attended to the address listed. Transcripts must be translated in English, and a certified copy of the translation must be attached. Frequently, US Embassies or Consulates refer applicants to certified translators.

International Student Application
This International Student Application must be completed, including your signature and date.
