Metropolitan Community College (MCC) is a comprehensive community college with eight locations in the Omaha metro area in eastern Nebraska. MCC is committed to serving the educational needs of the community by creating lifelong learners, enhancing the quality of life and building a prosperous future. Providing quality and affordable education is at the core of MCC's values.

Each year more than 49,000 credit and non-credit students attend MCC as traditional, second career and lifelong learning students and benefit from the personal attention, quality and care of a smaller institution. With a student-to-faculty ratio of 15-to-1 and an average class size of 16 students per class, students receive the individual attention needed to achieve their goals. To further assist students with achieving their goals, MCC offers learning communities - student groups organized around classes, programs, interests and educational goals. Each separate learning community serves a different purpose but share one goal - to help students succeed in fulfilling their goals.

Admissions

MCC offers easy access to higher education with an open enrollment policy. Anyone 16 years or older may register for classes. SAT and ACT scores are not required to enter MCC; free assessment testing is available at each location to place students into classes that meet their individual educational needs.

International students looking to enroll must be is granted an F-1 visa and be qualified to pursue a "full course of study" at an academic or language institution authorized to admit international students. A "full course of study" means all undergraduates must be enrolled in twelve credit hours or more each quarter. A full list of application materials and forms to enroll at MCC can be found online at www.mccneb.edu.

Flexibility

MCC recognizes the busy schedules of students and offers courses during days and evenings, on weekends, on DVD/video, online via the Internet or in a blended format of on campus and online activities. Add that to a quarter system that allows students to start four times a year (March, June, September or December), and MCC is an even more convenient solution to a student's educational needs.

Many come directly from industry to teach at MCC as a part-time instructor ensuring that students receive quality, up-to-date instruction in each program area. The MCC faculty believe in the integrity of each student and guarantee everyone the opportunity to master a chosen field.

Each year, MCC educates a potential workforce that can compete globally. To assist this workforce, MCC offers internships and practicum programs where students apply their learning at local businesses to help them later enter the workforce with confidence. The Career Network Centers further assist students with locating jobs, making career choices and polishing their résumés, cover letters and interview skills.
