Campus DescriptionChabot College is located in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California. Chabot College is a public, fully-accredited community college that prepares students to succeed in their education while engaging in the cultural life of the community. Students can earn Associate degrees and certificates in more than 80 academic subject areas. For students seeking to complete a Bachelor's degree, Chabot is an ideal environment for students to complete the first two years of a Bachelor's degree, before transferring to a four-year university. Chabot College is near many of the finest four-year universities in the U.S., and is within easy driving distance of the cities of Berkeley, San Jose and San Francisco. Hayward experiences mild temperatures year-round with periods of rainfall during fall, winter, and spring seasons and sunshine during the rest of the summer months. The San Francisco Bay Area is one of the most culturally and ethnically diverse regions in the United States and offers students a broad range of cultural, historic, recreational, and entertainment resources. Application and TuitionChabot College operates on a traditional semester system and offers an optional summer session. Applications are accepted for Fall (August 1 deadline), and Spring (December 1 deadline). New students are required to arrive on campus before classes begin for new student orientation and registration. Tuition for international students is a good value and can be estimated at $4,722 per academic year.International Student ServicesThe International Student Program (ISP) provides you with full-service and is dedicated to supporting international students with education, career planning, and course selection. Campus Life and FacilitiesInternational students are encouraged to participate in student clubs, student government, athletics, newspaper, and cultural events and celebrations. Chabot has a leading edge computer lab with over 120 Internet-ready computers and a 40,000 square foot computer and science building. Classrooms and laboratories are available for social science, language arts, humanities, international language, art, music, drama, physics and mathematics, and physical education. Features include a Performing Arts Center, planetarium, two gymnasiums, five athletic fields, 12 tennis courts, indoor handball and racquetball courts, new strength-training facilities, a 400-meter track, and modern fitness center.HousingChabot College does not offer on-campus housing; however, we have contracted with international Student Placement to assist students in finding safe and affordable housing in a quality, pre-screened host home. Chabot College has an agreement with California State University, East Bay (CSU-EB) and DeVry University that allows students to live in student housing located on the University campus while attending Chabot College. We can also assist you in locating shared housing and individual apartments or houses in the community. Public transportation is available to and from campus.English as a Second Language (ESL)The College does not offer beginning ESL courses. Chabot ESL classes are at intermediate and advanced levels only. International students can obtain English competency by enrolling in ESL courses at the ELS Language Center, conveniently located on the Chabot College campus. Chabot will accept completion of the Level 109 course for English proficiency.
